The Engineering Department within the Public Works Department provides excellent engineering services for our community, city council, and city staff.

The Engineering Department engineers, plans, prioritize, and implement the Capital Improvement Project (CIP) program includes project management and inspection.  The CIP reflects the needs and priorities of the City’s transportation, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water systems throughout the city.  Engineering also develops and reviews master planning documents, policy, and project proposals, which enables efficient programming and grant funding.

The Engineering Department works closely with the Planning Department to complete professional engineering plan reviews for site development permit applications and approve permit issuance, subdivision plats, and land divisions.  They administer the Development Code, Engineering Standards and other agency regulations and requirements.

In additions, the Engineering Department provides project design services for maintenance projects as well as maintains city as-built and base mapping information for maintenance and public use.
