Cross-Connection Control Program Summary Report 2008

Public Water System Cross-Connection Control Activities Annual Summary Report 2008

Water Quality Report 2008
This is a summary of the drinking water quality provided to you during the past year.  This report details where your water comes from, what it contains, and the City of Kelso’s commitment to deliver safe drinking water to our customers.

Streets/Drainage
The Street Department’s main priority is to ensure that all Kelso streets and alleys are as safe as possible for the public.  The Stormwater Division’s main objective is to ensure that the current drainage system operates in the most effective way possible to ensure life loss and property damage is kept to a minimum.

Traffic
The Traffic Department is primarily responsible for maintaining traffic signs, pavement markings, City owned street lights, traffic control for roadway maintenance, new projects, and special events.

Water/Sewer
The Water Division operates a water distribution system and in addition to its maintenance and repair, the Operations Department addresses and completes Citizen Concern Forms, receives and completes service orders from Finance, responds to emergency turn on/turn off and water line breaks, and assists other Public Works Departments when requested.

The Sewer Division operates a wastewater collection system and all sewage collected is transported through this system to a regional treatment facility.  In addition to maintenance, repair, and operation of theses facilities the department provides daily checks to all pump stations during the week.

Water Treatment/Supply
The Water Treatment Plant is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the treatment plant, all source and distribution water quality monitoring, and is accountable for providing a safe and adequate water supply into the distribution system.

Parks
The Parks Department is responsible for routine maintenance, mowing, and cleaning of 8 parks, 1 spray park, and bicycle and/or multi-use paths.
