Beginning on October 20th 2010, several important changes will become effective that will affect your Water/Sewer account. The main intent of these changes is to more accurately account for costs at the source rather than subsidize some utility customers at the expense of other customers. These changes will NOT affect the normal user rates.
Specifically, please be aware of the three following highlights.
First, the notification of late bill payment will be done exclusively by U.S. Mail. Please pay particular attention to your billing notices as THERE WILL NO LONGER BE “DOOR HANGER” NOTICES PROVIDED.
Second, if you open a new account, your required deposit amount will be determined by your account credit history.Up to three months use value deposit may be required.
Third, penalties for lack of payment shut-offs, meter tampering, and theft of services will be greatly increased.
